The Chairman of the Ramadhan Foundation, Shaykh Muhammad Umar Ibn Ramadhan said:
"I am shocked and saddened by the sudden death of my good friend, colleague and leader of British Muslims Professor Pir Syed Ahmed Hussain Tirmezi this morning in Halifax UK.
He was an amazing scholar whose character was so humble, loving and caring. He didn't care if you were a President or a local person; you always got the same attention and time from him. The tributes being paid to him are heartfelt and sincere which is testament to his character and life. Qibla Shah Ji was the most amazing human being you could have known.
His lifetime of service for Islam and Muslims around the World is his lasting legacy. He was President of the UK's oldest Muslim organisation which represents British Imams and Scholars, Markazi Jammat Ahle Sunnat UK and Overseas Trust. I travelled around the UK and the world with him, he never stopped preaching the true teachings of Islam and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He was a direct descendent of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He was someone who truly embodied himself with the teachings, morals and high standards of our faith and traditions.
I had the honour of taking him with my delegation to Iraq and saw his character and morals close up, it was true what they said about, he behaved in private as he did in public. I fondly remember our time together in the lands of Iraq, where we not only visited the holy Shrines but reached out to Iraqis fighting the evil ISIS.
By Allah I have no words to describe the pain I feel at this moment, not only have we lost a visionary leader, remarkable scholar but truly a unique human being
The Ramadhan Foundation would like to issue our deepest condolences to his beloved sons, Pir Syed Haider Shah Tirmezi and Pir Syed Hasanat Tirmezi, family and all at his Al Zahra Institute in Halifax."
